Back Cover: Tired of being pursued by shallow suiters in London, Anne Weston longs to find a virile, self-made man in New Orleans. Instead she meets Lucien Delacroix, the handsome ne'er-do-well son of a wealthy plantation owner, a charming dilettante who pays more attenton to the cut of his coat than to the running of his estate. Yet Anne can't help felling that there's more to him than meets the eye, especially sinc Lucien reminds her of the dark and daring stranger who one night pulled her into the shadows and recklessly kissed her... just after she had watched him save a family of slaves escape. Spellboud by the rogue's sensuality and enamored of his brave but illegal deed, she is drawn into his dangerous masquerade...and the fulfillment of love's most passionate dream.
My all-time favorite!

I've collected books by a variety of authors I enjoy from Joana Lindsey to Susan Johnson, but this book is by far my favorite. I'm so sorry to see it out of print! The relationship between Lucien and Ann is mysterious at first, captivating at times, funny a lot and endearingly romantic. From the powdered sugar scene to the unmasking love scene, I loved ever page! And the ending is well, I won't give it away, but if you can find this book, it's well worth the effort! I'm not giving my copy up for anything. Thank you Danice! Please write some more!
