From the perspective of someone with no art training, I actually wanted to go to Europe and elsewhere to see for myself the architecture and art that Silver explains so wonderfully in this book. He helped me to have a deeper appreciation of many small details that I otherwise would have overlooked. His explanations are both clear and competent. Intriguing to have interest in art and history.
