I bought this book in 1978..it is worn out by now. It is an incredible resource for genuine Sicilian cooking along and culture. Recipe wise it has become my substitute "nonna". I hope it enjoys a reprinting.

I purchased this book in the 70s, I think. I have since searched for and bought other copies to mail to my relatives. It contains the pure and simple recipes that we all should have. What a wonderful history of cooking. Now there are hundreds of books on Sicilian cooking. Its still right up there. If you are a serious Sicilian cook, you need to have it in your library.

This is a unpretentious book, not glamorous or fit for the coffee table, but it contains wonderful recipes and information. This was a significant book long before Sicilian cooking was 'discovered' by the the Martha Stewart cult....

This book is excellent if you are looking for recipes that your Sicilian Grandmother or mother made at home....recipes are easy to read and follow. Especially enjoyed the little stories just before some of the recipes explaining the history of that particular dish.
