From the moment Julia Kelly fell in love with Cortez Wallace, she knew her life would never be the same. Their passion was hot, tempestuous, explosive. And to her surprise, it didn't last forever. To escape the pain of yet another breakup, Julia moved to L.A. But now, when she hears startling news about her ex-lover, the successful TV producer comes home to Detroit for one final encounter with the man she simply can't get out of her heart.... Popular television anchor Cortez has loved Julia since high school. Except Julia's the one who walked out. Cortez's mind remembers betrayal. His heart tells him to win his woman back. But love is never as good as the first time...is it?
So I read this entire book in one day. The character's were well developed and the story was well written. Although there was something in the story that made me not give this 5 stars. I felt like there were too many road blocks and hurtles to get around. It just seemed like everytime you felt they would get together, they didn't. So I gave it 4 stars because I do love the chase in these romance novels. It makes reading them worth while.
Great summer read...fun and romantic...

As Good as the First time....this is a wonderful fun summer read. Julia and Cortez were in love..the lasting kind of love. Then, of course, something happens and Julia leaves...then a certain set of circumstances set them on the same path. It was fun to see them circling around and around each other, plotting, wishing and thinking way too much about each other. Then do they really find out if it really is "As Good as the First Time"? To find out, pick up this wonderful summer read...as always, Ms. Washington has a real winner on her hands...
