I never believed in love at first sight until I saw the beautiful Maria Ivanova. I saw her at a concert, she played the piano, she was a virtuoso. I know it sounds weird, but we made eye contact at her concert, and we made a connection, then a few weeks later she died of what the police reported as suicide. After that, my whole life went into a tailspin. I couldn't stop thinking of her and my obsession with her grew, not even her death could stop me. Between Christmas and New Year's Eve my friend Max and I went out for dinner, and I admitted my obsession with her. He decided jokingly to place my wish to be with Maria on confetti and have it fall when the ball dropped in Times Square. After that, strange things happened to me, unexplainable things. I met her in my dreams and my dreams became real.
