This book is very detailed and informative for the average DIY automotive mechanic. I do recommend the book.

This book has almost everything. Very technical, but well thought out. It will not necessarily get your car fixed, but it is a great addition to any Haynes or Chilton manual (which sometimes leave out some of those important facts). Highly recommend.

Much of what I learnt early on about cars comes from reading this excellent book. I still have my 1981 edition and after paging through the newer ones I see that it is still a great way to teach. If it doesnt go into as much detail as you like it will certainly point you in the right direction. My kid will definetly get a copy from santa.

The automotive encyclopedia has been available since the 70's and each addition is packed with the latest developments that the car manufactures employ to make cars more, fun, economical, and, necessarily, more complex.
