I bought this book specifically because I wanted a "college football stadium photo album" and the reviews I read implied this book was it. I wasn't disapointed! A great photo collection of all 117 Division 1-A stadiums! The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because I was hoping more of the photos would be aerial shots of the stadiums rather than photos taken from the field or stands. But still a great buy!!!
Autumns"s cathedrals

As a college football fanatic, I am constantly searching for books on this subject. I am also fascinated by stadium architecture and trivial details. I steered away from this book because of previous reviews I had read. Then I saw a copy at a friend's house and read it. I was so surprised to find this book to be exactly what it claimed to be--A pictorial tour of college football stadiums. (Makes me think the negative comments were from readers who didn't read the words in the title --"Pictorial" and "Stadiums" etc.) There are many books already in existence on the teams, games, and schools, but none that give you a summary view of all the stadiums. Thank you for producing such a wonderful undertaking--and also for keeping the text as short as possible.

WOW! Great book for sitting back and dreaming. The large photos, from a variety of viewpoints helped me to better visualize the layout and architecture of these grid-iron wonders. Some schools have grand stand shots, some have aerial, some have both full and empty shots. Most schools have several shots and some have old historic photos included. I don't know what the criticism from some of the early reviewers is based on. This book is apparently about stadiums--not fans, not teams, not stats. The authors did a splendid job of creating the most thorough book I've ever seen on the Division 1-A stadiums. The other books only show a few favorite schools or several schools with black and white pictures. This book is oversize and the color pictures go right to the edges of the pages. I have never seen such big pictures, I feel like I'm right there. The only criticism I have is that Notre Dame is missing a very important past player--Joe Montana. However, being from a small, not so famous conference, I was elated to find a book that included my school, Nevada. All the other books only cover the big, major, popular ones. This is the only book that gave equal treatment of all of them. Thank you for such a thoughtfully executed book. When is the next edition coming out?

5 stars all the way! Great job Wolfes. I've been waiting for something like this to come out. The color pictures are very inspiring, Although my school's stadium picture was not perfect quality, most were. The authors explained in the front of the book that they contacted all schools to send photography. Apparently some didn't and the smaller schools never get much photo coverage and exposure of their games. Overall, this book is read on a consistent basis in my home for that last two seasons. Several have been bought as gifts for friends.
