This book is a great help to building your skill as a happy camper. This book covers all the basics of what to bring, how to use it, "Hygiene Hijinks", group dynamics, games, and much more. My favorite section is about the food. Sleeping well and eating well are the keys to keeping everyone happy and this book will help you learn how to do it. The recipes are easy to follow, delicious, practical and unique. I have shared this book with all the kids I know who have ventured off on their first camping trips alone, and they rave about it, too! Babes in the Woods is not the only backcountry guide you will need, but the unique information and easy to use format makes this one special.
