I read these books years ago. I didn't remember a lot of details..only Blackie, Emma & Paula. I also remembered the story of a poor girl who grew up to be a worldwide billionaire with children who turned against her in her old age BUT SHE FOUND OUT IN TIME!! Each book is a thriller in it's own right while also being a continuing saga of many of Emma's offspring down through the ages. I intend to read them all over again. These are keepers. I could not put this book down. It was excellent. She is one of the 3 authors that I have to buy their books as soon as they come out!
I begged the author NOT to let the main characters die!!!

This trilogy of a woman's life, struggles, and successes, is the best of this type I've ever read. The reader gets to know, and love her(Emma) and her longtime friend/love(Blackie). More tears than usual were shed over each one's passing. I did not want the trilogy to end
