Bee-ing Lily...: Saving the Planet One Bee Hotel at a Time

More than a mere sibling rivalry, Lily and her brother, Avery, seem to hate one another and take joy only in harassing each another. That is until Lily takes a dunking in the family toilet, spiralling through the pipes, ending up in a dystopian universe inhabited by insects. Lily is up to her neck in bugs, her nemesis---and things could not get worse But ofcourse, they do... Seeing and feeling the destruction wrought on the world by pesticides and insecticides, Lily comes home with a higher purpose. She is intent on saving the honeybees until she realizes there is more at stake than honey She begins her crusade by making bee hotels for solitary bees and includes her dopey brother's best friend, Heath, her friend, her mom, and against all odds, her brother, Avery She encounters a family of stinkbugs who come to mean alot to her and Lily creates a garden just for their safety and possbily survival of the species. With a higher purpose, with a selfless cause, Lily becomes more likeable and more approachable. She gets her very first boyfriend, her first kiss, and a better understanding of the dynamics of her family--good news for a disgruntled and somewhat combative 14 year old She takes on big pesticide companies and one bee hotel, one YouTube video, one blog entry at a time, she saves planet Earth
