All of Paris was abuzz with the news - Belinda the ballerina was coming to town! But when Belinda's extra-large ballet shoes wind up in Pago Pago by mistake, she and a young ballerina must hit the streets to look for a new pair. Along the way, Belinda befriends a trio of Parisians, each with his or her own problem. Can Belinda save the day and still find ballet shoes before her performance that night? New and old fans alike will cheer magnifique ! for Amy Young's big-footed (and big-hearted) ballerina, as she wins over the City of Lights.
Our three year old little girl loved this story so much, it was all she wanted for Christmas. The story is simple and very charming. Belinda the Ballerina arrives in Paris without her ballet shoes and her feet are so enormous she needs to travel all around Paris, and enlist the help of several local characters to have new shoes made. The illustrations depict some of the most famous sites around Paris and the story is humourous and entertaining. A family favourite!

If you or your young niece or daughter like ballet, or LOVE Paris, France, this is a great read. Lovely illustrations of scenic Paris (monuments, locations, locations, locations). If your kid enjoyed "Pinkalicious" or "Disney's Marie" she will like this book... especially if your kid is one who cares about soft colors and pinks. I have purchased a few copies to give as gifts and the book has been well received.

Santa delivered this to my two year old daughter for christmas. She loves ballet and loves this book! We have Belinda and the Glass Slipper and find this one equally adorable. The illustrations include many landmarks/monuments in Paris which is an added bonus. The book also shows the value of teamwork and cooperation which is a great skill for the little ones to learn.

I wish I'd had a Belinda when I was young! I'm charmed by her passion, her perseverance, and her good spirit. The stories of both her debut performance and her Paris visit are sure to keep both children and adults smiling and hopeful. She of the big feet dances with such grace!
