I was totally gripped by this story, it is interesting and innovative. Read this in one sitting, absolutely unable to put it down! The suspense is as well done, if not better than some of the things on the Times Best Seller list right now. I looked it up and she has another book coming out in April- I can't wait! I have already pre-ordered it!

Riviting may be an overused word in book reviews but for me this books was just that. A fast paced, suspensful, page turner that fit in with my of what an Intrigue should be. The connection between Gina and Harlan progressed logically but for me it was secondary to the intrigue of the story. They were crossed at every turn in their need to, and rush to, solve the mystery of what ,and who, was against their survival. The interaction between Harlan and Adam and Gina and Adam seemed realistic. Gina's concerns about her ability to care for Adam felt very real. Intense is the word I would use to describe the relationship side and the intrigue side of this story.

Kay Thomas has crafted a book that not only makes you fall in love with her hero, Harlan for his tender care and understanding of an autistic boy, Adam, but has you rooting for Harlan and the heroine, Gina, Adam's aunt, as they solve the mystery behind the death of Adam's mother. Better Than Bulletproof kept me turning pages as fast as I could and is the best Intrigue book I've read in years. Ms. Thomas sets the tone of the book from page one. Given the situation they are in, the seriousness of the problem, Adam's unusal needs, she lets the romance build naturally between Harlan and Gina. Want a book that will warm you this cold winter? Be sure to pick up your copy of Better Than Bulletproof ASAP!
