I love this book... easy to understand, beautiful format.

I would definitely recommend The Bible Promise Book for Preschoolers! The verses in this book are simple and easy to understand, and are accompanied by beautiful illustrations. There are different sections about being happy, when you're scared, being angry, forgiveness, giving thanks, and God's promises. I think the King James Version is very appropriate and simple. It does use words such as "ye" instead of "you", but it is still very understandable. The KJV is a very good, classic version of the Bible. Here is how a sample page out of the book is (in the category "God is There"): And ye shall seek Me, and find Me, when ye shall search for Me with all your heart. Jeremian 29:13 Do you play hide and seek? That's a fun game to play with your friends and family. But God does not play that game. God will never hide from you. God is always there to help you, listen to you, and most of all, to love you.
