Finding a book--to say nothing of a good book--on home management is very difficult these days, when being a housewife--whoops, domestic engineer (blecch)--is seen as somehow disgraceful, as if it weren't a job, and certainly not a job that anyone should care about doing well. I am proud that I place taking care of my family and our home as a top priority and a privilege. But whatever fills your days, everyone eventually has to deal with cooking, cleaning and shopping. This book is for everyone. It's impossible to list all the topics Heloise covers in her books for anyone interested in managing their household, whether you are a homemaker or not. Turning to random pages: How to prepare herbs for making tea, car washing and maintenance, and housebreaking a puppy. What makes it so easy to use is not only are the chapters specific, but often the subtopics are arranged alphabetically (including about 400 pages straight of topics, Heloise A to Z, on EVERYTHING from abrasive cleaners to zucchini).
