the first book in the sin war trilogy was a decent starter book to the trilogy. i know there are some poo-pooers saying that knaak`s work in this was lacking. however, i`d like to tell potential buyers that this book is a pretty good ride, through and through, and well worth your money. the tension throughout is palpable, the mystery intense. read the sample and see what i mean...

Book was received in the conditioned advertised and in a quick matter. Loved the Diablo games, but so far haven't really got into the books.

Based on the Diablo games by Blizzard Software, the Sin War is a lead up to the events in the games that takes place thousands of years ago. New comers to the Diablo universe wont find understanding the characters difficult since characters from the games are introduced with introductions expertly woven into the story so as to be enjoyable for all. To me this story is very enjoyable due to the fact the story is a journey of discovery for the central character as much as it is for the audience with enemies and close friendships formed throughout the story (as well as the trilogy). A masterpiece from the master story writer Richard A. Knaak has crafted a classic tale, in which a young man must rise to the challenges of life to overcome the greatest adversaries and save the world from utter destruction.

Hopefully this book marks the beginning of Blizzard's voyage to Diablo III the video game. The Sin War starts here, which shows the realm of Sanctuary at an early stage of development. Sanctuary is the realm between Heaven and the Burning Hells in which demons and angels play with the lives of mortal men. This book which follows Uldyssian as he develops fascinating new powers and his interactions with the people of Sanctuary. Of course, what story like this would be complete without demons and angels? Well, they're here too. All in all, I can't wait for the rest of the Sin War series...
