I love James Patterson's Alex Cross books, and even though this book is not an Alex Cross novel, this is still great. This story is interesting and has the plot of a Tom Clancy novel, but moves along with suspense like a detective story. It is packed with action and interesting characters. It is difficult to follow in some parts, but it is still great.

The main character, Arch Carroll, was a no-nonsense, go-getting guy, that I love to read about. This book had action and adventure, combined with a romantic twist at times. This book delves deep into the mind about government conspiracy. Right from the begining he pulls you in with action and excitement. Clearly one of his best books. He makes you want to never, ever put this book down!

James Patterson has done a great job. The characters are great and the suspence is great. It has a great plot with an easy cool ending. All of that is what you need for a great James Patterson novel and he is still my favorite author. I would diffently recommend this book. It will give you all the action.

I read the opening chapter several times, and simply thought it was going to be a real flop....but when I actually go into it, it was simply Brilliantly written and a great read!

after reading 'Along came a Spider', and watching 'Kiss the Girls', i just had to try another of Patterson's books. Black Market starts strongly, and just keeps going ! the plot is (almost !) believable, and the characters are strong - this is an excellent read. i finished this in 5 days, just had to keep going back to it. the story jumps from plot to plot, and keeps you riveted. the only (very slight) downside is that the ending, or rather the 'finale', only lasts around a half dozen pages, but alround GREAT !
