Ensayo sobre moral.

No creo que pueda decir nada que ya no se haya dicho sobre la trama de este libro, solo puedo agregar que apenas lei la primera pagina me enganche, y no pude soltarlo hasta terminar de leerlo. Ensayo sobre la ceguera es el primer libro de una trilogia, "involuntaria", de Saramago, y ya estoy esperando con ansia poder leer "Todos los Nombres" y "La Caverna", los otros dos titulos de esta trilogia. Saramago es un genio, que continua emocionandome, conmocionandome y ensenandome el lado obscuro de la naturaleza humana. En este libro Saramago hace una especie de denuncia de la desensibilizacion a la que hemos llegado los seres humanos, eso si, una denuncia escrita muy inteligentemente, con una sabiduria enorme y sobre todo con una humildad infinita. El estilo de Saramago obliga al lector a leer pausadamente, y a refleccionar sobre la profundidad de sus argumentos. Una fuerte critica social que no deja de sorprenderme.
Abre tus ojos, a la realidad mas desagradable con Saramago.

Un libro espectacular.Uno de los mejores que haya leido en mi vida.Que pasa si un pueblo entero, se queda ciego. Eso incluye a todos. TODOS CIEGOS.O acaso, talves. Este libro te haga despertar. Ensayo sobre la ceguera fue la primera novela de Saramago que lei. El hombre es un genio. Facilmente te envuelve en el texto hasta hundirte en el mundo de la historia. Oracion tras tras parrafo tras capitulo -- Saramago es uno de los pocos escritos aun comprometidos con el arte de la literatura. Como estudiante de literatura contemporanea hispana, recomiendo esta novela como una verdadera obra maestra. Es una delicia de lectura.
An Eye Opening Tale

You approach Blindness from a distance. The subject is so utterly chilling that you ask why go on. First, there is the unusual style of the writing. The lack of regular paragraph breaks, odd punctuation and no quotes makes for a slow read. You soon realize that this book must be read slow for a variety of reasons. The primary one being that you need to absorb the magnitude of characters horrific situation. The story actually frightens you but like the characters you soon grow more accustomed to the situation. After the first fifty pages, I found the story so consuming that I had to keep reading. Despite no character having a name you are drawn to them completely. This is not an ordinary book. It is a work by an enormously talented author (who I had not previously heard of). This book forces you to contemplate how fragile society can be. It illustrates a complete breakdown of our way of life. It is certainly not for the faint of heart but a must read those seeking provocative litature. You may want to read this with a friend or in a club. It will generate conversation. I strongly recommend Blindness.
