Blood and Fire [Caught Off Guard: Convince Me]

I enjoyed each of the stories. Each of them was smoking HOT but they were very short. While the characters themselves were fully developed I felt the relationships between them were strangely not as developed. It was kinda like they are attracted to each other, have some steamy sex, and then they find out they are in love. I think the stories were good. But I think they could have been better if the author had spent more time on each of the characters getting to know each other better. That being said if you are looking for a short and fast read this would be a good quickie. Ths first story starts with a hunky fireman named Dean and Veronica, the good girl that got away. Only this time the good girl is tired of being good and goes after the playboy fireman who has decided he actually want a real relationship! Since she just got divorced Veronica isn't looking for anything serious but Dean won't have her any other way. The second story is actually a vampire paranormal, with the dark and mysterious man being the vampire. I really enjoy paranormal romances and this was short and sweet. I felt a little strange after reading the straight contempoary romance earlier. I had to switch gears and orient myself when I began this story. Kailey is human and wants Damien and sets to seduce him. It has a suprising ending which many will enjoy but I found a bit abrupt. These were both solid reads that are a quick fix but the development between the characters is a little short. But if are looking for a easy read that is super sexy I don't think you will be dissapointed.

This book contains two novelettes. Tonya makes me feel like the lead female in each story she writes. The descriptions become more vived with each turn of the page. I breathlessly wait her next book.
