This 260th Episode of the Trailsman has been around for a while--actually since June 2003.Nonetheless it is an excellent story in this excellent series. So,if you get tired of waiting for the latest episode to appear;give some of the earlier ones a try;there are many great ones to choose from. Skye argo is in Kansas in 1859 to attend the wedding of his long time friend Jed Brand. What he runs into was the farest from his mind.Old hatreds surface and lots of killings become the order of the day, including his friend Jed.Instead of enjoying the wedding and a good reunion and getting on the trail asgain;Fargo is duty bound to stay around until the killers are brought to justice. It is a well constructed tale with plenty of excitement and all the rest that comes with a good Old West Western. The characters are interesting and well developed. There are lots of things happening and the reader doesn't know how things are going to be resolved, even though there is little doubt as to who is doing the killing. Fargo ends up ,way underground, with little hope of survival, but we know he has coped with just as impossible prospects of survival many times before;and this case won't be any different. The story has some great shootout scenes and an abundance of confrontations resulting in lots of interesting action. I always enjoy the artwork on the covers of this series. This one has two great Old West scenes;however,I had trouble connecting them with the story. The scene of the showdown at the Bigelow House after Fargo detonates a charge of gunpowder under it an sends it skyhigh;would have been an excellent scene for this cover. A great read and one of the best!
