Bold Beauty: Questionable content for the age group the book is geared toward 9-12.

I was recommended this series foe my 8 year old daughter. Since the recommendation I have purchased all 8 books. I was informed yesterday that book 3 Bold Beauty has questionable content for the age group. There is a debate going on about abortion (which is fine as we talk about topics like this openly) but then it goes in to the topic on about abortion after r*pe. My kids don't know what that is and they don't need to at their age group. I had to white out the word, and put something else in its place. I was shocked and taken back. I hope the other books don't have content like that. I can't read all of these books fast enough. I will say that the debate they were having was well done and ends with showing that life is valuable from conception. Which is what we teach and belive. We haven't read the entire book yet, but buyer be aware if you are purchasing for young readers. I believe the debate starts on page 151/152.
Pretty good, but not best in series, and some parents may wish to be aware of content first

While this isn't my favorite in the series, it's a great story with likeable characters and cool info about animals. I enjoyed the powerful and thoughtful abortion debate speech, especially when that boy shares why this topic matters to him. Personal problems Winnie faces in this one are a touch awkward for me to read, but realistic and full of faith and growth.

This is a TOTALY cool book! I adore all of Winnie The Horse Gentler books although this is probably my favorite! This is a MUST buy!
