Now in paperback -- in this "dramatized" biography Simon Bolivar's life unfolds like a Greek tragedy. From defeat he rises to triumph, liberates Venezuela, Columbia, Panama, Peru, Ecuador, and... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Since History and biography are sometimes difficult to read, I found this particularly Biography of the Liberator of most countries in South America an adventure and a well written romance novel, with details about history most of his people may ever read. It's an enthusiastic and charismatic biography for all of us, regardless the origin or idiosyncrasy. Definitely a motivational story
Enjoyable reading

I have read "Bolivar: Liberator of a Continent" from cover to cover and found it not only enjoyable reading but also most informative about the life of this great man. (bill boyd) has succeeded in putting flesh and bone on well-known historical figures. (His) depictions of them are completely accurate as are (the) descriptions of the events of the period. It is a book that not only scholars but everyone will enjoy.
One of the most readable books I have ever read.

I read this book because of the quote by Arthur Hailey in the NY Times " Bolivar reads more like a novel than history. Its characters come vividly alive, as does the dramatic defeat of so much of the once mighty Spanish empire". Every word he said is true, I could hardly put it down until I finished it.
An excellent, highly readable account of a genuine hero

I was fascinated by Mr. Boyd's account of Bolivar's life. I really knew very little about the man, but found the dramatization technique of the author made this an enjoyable experience. I hope that more people in the US discover this book, since both for Latinos and the rest of us, Bolivar's story is truely inspirational.

brings an american hero to life, from his boyhood under spanish colonialism to the tumultuous years when he led 6 countries to freedom. It is a history filled with unforgettable characters, tempestuous love affairs, rousing adventures and a journey through a piece of history few in the US know, but no reader of this book ever forget.
