Refreshing and a relief from the heavy burdens of life...a fun read!

This is a fun book of short stories about real life people and situations with good morals to each story. I had been reading this book and enjoying it so much that I read some parts aloud to my 10 year old daughter. She loved it. Later, she tried to get me out of the bathtub to read more to her because I had the book in there with me (she fell asleep to me reading it to her that night)! I could so relate to these stories and got many laughs...from the Bahamian ladies giving Frankee the guilt trip, to Ellie's hilarious account of her weight loss efforts and people's responses to it, to "special ingredient" brownies, the family dog, and crazy family busy-ness to heartwarming and sometimes difficult situations, but always finding humor in life. I found it refreshing and a relief from the heavy burdens of life! It had me laughing out loud. Who couldn't use some of that? Ellie has a true gift for telling stories of life with compassion and compelling humor. I highly recommend this read!
