The beautiful, creative, and ancient art of bookbinding offers countless design options for selecting exquisite papers and board, fabrics for the cover, ribbons to use as markers, and other decorative touches that capture a book's spirit. From aligning and folding the sheets to stitching the body to adding attractive endpapers, this manual provides in-depth knowledge of the fundamentals, giving you the skills to fashion personalized note, recipe, and date books in a range of styles. It covers all the materials (including adhesives, seams and tapes): cutting the paper; forming the book block; and reinforcing bindings.
Finally, a book about bookbinding with great color pictures...it is a newer modern book so it makes sense...
Well explained sections about folding, sewing and covering...most books shown are made with the cover made seperate...a different style of book making....in my opinion not as strong as traditional covers...but I am new to all this and learning.
Learning you can with this book, very clearly written...again lots of great photos/ pictures.
The section with the stuhl used as sewing frame is a wasted filler...lol
All in all a decent book for beginners!
