I'm a chilean woman of 45, mother of 5, open-minded, living in a very closed-minded country. I have several gay friends whom I love and respect and I've bought some gay literature not available in my country, to learn more about gay people's problems and the best way of becoming a good and helpful friend for them. Of all the twenty something gay books I've read, I recommended only two of them to straight people, and just this one to my mother. It's her first and only gay book, and she was reluctant to read it, but one night she phoned me arround 11:00 pm, and just said: "sorry, I had to call you to tell you I've been crying with laughter over the tree and the chandeliere chapters". I recommend it to everyone, gay, straight or bi.

Gay, straight, bi - who cares! This book is hilarious. You will never think of certain Hoolywood types in the same way again. They are as insecure and fake as any wannabe on the corner! Tony's life is a fun read with a lot of heart and thought. Nice & short chapters make for a fast and fun read.

I read this book while vacationing in the Bahamas and I could not put it down. With so many other things to do, all I wanted to do was to keep on reading. What a great read! The stories are short and vividly told, ... you are there with Tony Somertino and his colorful array of Hollywoodians and you are laughing during the entire journey. Wonderfully written, perfect for sitting on a lounge chair sipping something cold and releasing the troubles of the world. The stories of the family weddings kept me in stitches. I had to share my copy with two other people who joined me on vacation because they saw me having so much fun reading it.

A wonderfully funny book that will make you fall out of your chair laughing about the side of Hollywood you don't always get to hear about. But it is also about the need to be loved and accepted, and the paths you choose to reach that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
