There are no boys at the Alma Stephens School and Lisa, Palmer, Shanon and Amy do not want to spend every Saturday night in their rooms eating pizza and complaining. So they advertise for male pen... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Thanks this this series, I always wanted to go to boarding school as an adolescent... New to an all-girls boarding school, 13-year-olds Shanon, Lisa, Amy and Palmer decide to place ads in the school newspaper for pen pals from the nearby boys' boarding school. Their ad is a hit, resulting in many responses, although the four suitemates finally decide to correspond with a boys' suite, who dub themselves "The Unknown." In this first book, shy Shanon - who is a townie, at the school only because of a scholarship - fears meeting her new pen pal in person at the school dance, and sends him a photo of her older sister instead... Since this series was written in the late '80s and early '90s - when email was not readily available - some of today's adolescent girls may find it slightly unbelievable that the characters would spend so much time writing, and waiting for, communication via letters. If they can overlook that, however, this is a fun series, great for adolescent girls.

This book is really good. I've read it soooo many times. It is about a group of girls who go to a girls school and want boy penpals. They get them but it can sometimes get complicated. It makes u want to get your own penpals!
