A lavish, captivating tribute to one of nature's most beautiful creatures, this exquisite book displays butterflies as never before - through exceptional photographs that capture them in striking detail. Using special techniques and hours of patience - all of the butterflies were photographed alive - Vasco's and Starosta's pictures cover the surprising beauty of every moment of life - from eggs and caterpillars to chrysalis and final birth, allowing the reader to perceive the glory of a wing surface or the opening of a chrysalis. 200 full-colour photos.
This is a memorable book full of huge pictures beautifully shot by photographer Paul Starosta. I like the large format and the printing qulality. Examining the caterpillar and its metamorphosis into a butterfly is one of the great photo essays in the book. There are great photos of a huge assortment of butterflies and moths in this book with good info on the species and their geographic data. The emphasis is on pictures, so if you're into the mistery and beauty of butterflies this book will not dissapoint.
