This is a good basic review of the laws regarding property purchase in Ireland. It covers all the steps you need to take in enough detail to help you decide whether this is something you really want to do. If you decide to go ahead, it will help you in your dealings with the various professionals and authorities. Especially if you are American, buying and developing property in Ireland is different, very different. You will need all the foreknowledge you can get. This book is a good place to start.
