For those who are weary of jargon filled books that promise to teach you C++ in 3 days or whatever- get this book! It makes no pretensions of any sort, but if you study it undisturbed for a few hours , you will have most of your questions about C++ answered. Amazingly deep insight in a deceptively dimunitive book
Great but tough

Elegant, challenging, and thoughtful. The exercises at the end of each chapter are very useful. One of the few books available that fully explains one why C++ is structured the way it is and why one should take advantage of its unique features. It is tough going because the author assumes that the reader will work hard. I like that but was often puzzled by various items and found myself going to other books for less terse explanations.
