Canine Parvovirus, often known as "Parvo", is still considered a novel illness. It started in Europe in 1976, and by 1978 it had expanded globally. Parvo is a highly infectious viral illness that particularly targets tissues with quickly dividing cells in dogs.

Canine Parvovirus is classed as a disease of the stomach and small intestines, since here is where the virus produces the greatest harm.
