Christian romance/adventure. Leslie and her 3 friends go to the HemisFair in San Antonio, Texas, in 1968. When her friends go to another exhibit, she helps a Russian guide leave the fair. He wants to defect and stay in America. She is concerned if she is doing the right thing. She depends on God for guidance. She faces other problems, too. There are several other people in her life. She helps a Vietnam veteran who is badly wounded get a jot teaching at the army GED school on the fort where she teaches. Her friend, Blaine, wants to marry her, but she is not sure of his commitment to the Lord. Leslie looks back on her marriage. The loss of her husband and unborn child has left a sadness in her heart. An epilogue brings the story up to the year 2000.
