The subtitle for this book is "Favorite Dishes from Around the World." On top of the wonderful recipes in this book, it has something I've never seen before (and I have six tall bookshelves full of cookbooks). That something encompasses two pages. It is an International Spice Chart showing columns of aromatics, herbs, spices, and miscellaneous -for different regions across the globe. What I really like about this is that by looking at these flavors; I get a good idea of which regional foods I may want to explore. It's also kind of cool because it shows the similarities in some regions. And on that aspect, you can see how you can produce meals using some of the same ingredients and getting much different flavors with just a few other ingredients or tweaks of spices. Enjoy this cookbook!
