In this entrancing conclusion to her Orphan Train trilogy, New York Times bestselling author Linda Lael Miller bewitches with a sensual tale of the oldest Chalmers sister, who dares to risk everything in pursuit of a dream... Caroline Chalmers may seem like a staid schoolmistress, but when her promised husband is arrested for a crime that he says he didn't commit, she walks boldly into a Wyoming frontier saloon and asks former Confederate raider Guthrie Hayes to help her plot a jailbreak. Caroline believes she wants married life with a respectable man--and the disreputable, wildly handsome Guthrie certainly doesn't fit the bill. But when he kisses her, she is flooded with a shameless passion that leaves her shaken to the core...and longing for more. Guthrie's hard-won hopes for his future don't involve helping a naive girl on a foolhardy mission. There's something about the lovely Caroline's sensual response to his caresses, however, that makes him forget his sensible plans in an overwhelming yearning to teach this lovely wildcat the true meaning of desire.
This book held my attention and I wanted to know what happened. There were a lot of different settings which made it interesting and how each was played out. This is a book I plan to keep to reread later.
Fabulous Ending to the Orphan Train Series

Caroline calls Gutherie out of the local bar to seek his assistance in breaking her intended out of a jail for a crime he convinces her that he did not committ. It doesn't take long for Gutherie to fall for Caroline, whom he promptly begins calling "wildcat" for the remainder of the book. The hero and heroine are funny and hot and their adventure is a page-turner. Underneath their story is the reunion of Caroline with her two sisters from Lily and the Major and Emma and the Outlaw stories. Read the book in one sitting, like many of Ms. Miller's books.

Charactors are so real and vivid, all are loved and cherished during reading, and truly missed when finished. Save it. You will want to read it again and again. But you must also read the other two books, 1st, Lily and the Major and Emma and the Outlaw. You will love them all.
Funny and sexy

This is the third in the series and ironically the one I have read first. The characters are interesting and real, caroline is impetuous and full of fire, the raider practical and couragous. There is some intrigue and suspense but mostly just plain fun reading. I read it in one sitting. If you like her other books you'll enjoy this one as well.
