The Ukraine tricks the U.S. into thinking Turkey--their own ally--has launched a nuclear attack. Now "Tombstone" Magruder must face the most threatening question of his life: in an age of computer warfare, how do you tell your friends from your enemies?
This was the first of the Carrier series books that I read, and I have read two since and spoken with the author. I must say that Nuke Zone was perhaps the best in the series. It starts off excitingly, and continue's that way throughout its entirety. There is more than just air-to-air combat going on as one might expect. There is even a hired assassin that sneaks aboard the carrier USS Jefferson and plants a bomb to take out one of the catapults, which is a slight twist to what would seem normal for a book like this. The aerial battles are quite intense, and it is impossible to stop reading until the battle is over. The characters are pretty realistic, but it helps to read more than one book in the series to get a feel for them. I strongly suggest that anyone that likes severe action read this.
Another great one by Mr. D.
