Catherine is comforted by the company of her imaginary lion friend, who goes to school with her and accompanies her in all her at-home activities. This description may be from another edition of this product.
This is my 2.5yo's current favourite bedtime book. I think part of the appeal for her is the fact that the heroine is a self-assured girl called Catherine (like her mum and her best friend) and that it also stars an imaginary lion (her current favourite animal). I like the subtlety of the story and the illustrations and the positive messages it has about growing up and being a bit more independent. I am sorry to hear that it is out of print.
