This is a very well written tribute to the author's grandmother and one I was anxious to read. She is on her way to being a very fine writer and one for 'tine (as she calls Celestine Sibley) to be very proud of. She gives the reader the sense of becoming close to the subject. In fact one gets the feeling of being welcome to go to lunch with the two of them!
It's funny, heartwarming and interesting....

Sibley Fleming has captured the true essence of a relationship between a grandmother and a granddaughter. I found myself relating to Sibley, even though my own grandmother wasn't "famous" --- I am getting copies for my surviving grandmother, mother and aunt. We can all share in the bond of family by reading this book. Thank you, Sibley Fleming.
Praise for a realistic look at a great writer and journalist

I couldn't put it down. I loved it so! Celestine Sibley Fleming has done a bang-up job in chronicling her life with her grandmother. The recipe section was so funny --- I laughed and laughed. Who else would put a recipe for a paper chain in a book? The insights were keen and the stories rang true. I used up a whole box of tissues at the end. Fleming was so honest and open about the death of her grandmother. She should be commended for her efforts and her gift. Get this book. If you have a special relationship with your grandmother, you should buy her a copy, too!
A perfect ending

Celestine Sibley revealed so much of herself in her columns and books, but she clearly held a lot back and Sibley Fleming has done such a favor for us fans by allowing us a glimpse into their family life. It appears that Fleming and her grandmother had a very special and rare bond and the relied on each other a lot. I thought this book was very touching, whether or not you "knew" Celestine Sibley through her columns. A moving story about family. I was especially touched by the last chapter, that which guided us as their extended family though Celestine's passing and especially her great-grandson's reaction to it. Thank you Sibley Fleming for this perfect ending to Celestine's life for those of us not fortunate enough to know her.
