The book won the Design and Effectiveness Award in the Illustrated Text category from the Washington Book Publishers, on May 31, 2006. About the Author Sybil E. Hatch, P.E., is founder of Convey, Inc., which provides marketing communications for the planning, architecture, engineering, and construction industries. Product Reviews Somewhere between a coffee-table book for middle and high school girls, and an inspirational inducement to engineering as a career for the same audience, this book is a collection of excellent photographs interspersed with biographical and informational texts about women engineers ... but there is also a story that even a fifth-grader could read and find engaging. -- Choice: Reviews for Academic Libraries

Excellent book. Packed full with interesting historical and current information about women in engineering. An excellent source for a History of Women class. A tribute to the contributions American women have made including 26 astronauts who were engineers. Photos are great.

All Engineers Would Be Proud

This gorgeously created and illustrated 'coffee table' book is one I've recommended to all my woman engineer friends. Also useful for Guidance Counselors, parents of young girls, (actually, my nephew admits to paging through it too!) and anyone who is interested in what engineers really do. The fact that it highlights women is great for us women, but don't let it mislead you. The information, the ideas, the extremely well-written text (plainspeak, hurray!) will inspire anyone male or female who enjoys the business of 'solving problems'.
