Charlie is actually a Great African Millipede. This is the story of a memorable day when he performed a heroic deed in the gorge of the Zambezi River. The book is vividly illustrated and aimed at children of ages 4+. Pam and Mike Collier have both been involved in the educational world of Zimbabwe. While growing up in the country, their children enjoyed playing with the intriguing and harmless millipedes, known locally as Chongololos. Happy memories of those days have triggered this narrative. Dilys Drewett is a free-lance artist and illustrator, now living in the West Country of England. Her lifelong interest in animals and birds has provided the inspiration for much of her painting, and she is fascinated by plants and flowers, having been a florist for many years. Dilys likes nothing better than walking the Somerset countryside with her dog.
