Charly!

This was the first "adult" book I ever read (and by that I mean it's what my mom gave me when I asked for an adult book). I'm not a Jack Weyland fan persay, but this original of his is touching and classic beyond words.Basically, it's a Mormon version of "Love Story" only funnier and quirkier. It follows the unlikely romance of two opposites, their courtship, marriage, and fate.Besides the romance, we have the obligatory conversion story which winds up being one of the best parts about this, as kindly as I can that without acting like a missionary. It's Jack Weyland's best work (he was my bishop, by the way) and probably his enduring legacy.

I love this book and enjoy the banter that happens between the characters. It shows its age in some ways, but in a lot of ways it is still timeless. I think the movie is fantastic, too, and the storyline was updated well.
Love, Laughter, and Tears

Charly, by Jack Weyland, is, in my eyes, the best book by this author and one of the top 15 best books ever. The Characters are well developed, and the story flows incredibly well. Not only is it a well written novel, but it takes you through an in depth ride of emotions along with the characters, all of whom you come to love. It is a wonderful book. I laughed, I cried, and I learned about love, long lasting, eternal love. PS) I did enjoy the movie Charly, which was cute, but it hardly did the book justice.
Very Emotional Story!

I have read this book several times and each time I read it, I cry. It is humorous, happy, and sad. This book really makes you think about how short life is and the importance of every moment
This is the best and the most moving book I have ever read.
