Cross-referenced to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Christ's Mother and Ours explores Mary's role based on Scripture, historic teaching, art, architecture, songs, sacramentals, devotions, and apparitions. Paperback
This book is an excellent resource for Catholics and non-Catholics alike. It explains in clear and simple terms the relationship between Mary and the Church. It details the Catholic view of Mary and clears up many misconceptions. It also includes an excellent explanation of the rosary with very helpful meditations to bring the mysteries of the rosary to life. I found this book helpful in fitting Mary into the framework of my faith with the proper emphasis and understanding. A must read.
Opened my Eyes

I found this book to be a real eye opener. I read this book before Scott Hahn's "Hail Holy Queen" came out. I never understood why Catholics called Mary the "Queen of Heaven" before this, and now I do and I am so happy to know it, it makes complete sense to me now and is very biblical. I recommend this book.
Mary in the Church

I found this book would show Catholics how Mary is supported by the scriptures and her importance to Jesus and therefore us. And for non-Catholics you will see how Mary is prayed to for intercession and is not worshipped. Which seems to be a large misconception held by many. We are shown what the Bible itself has to say about Mary. And we are explained the Church's teachings on Her. This book also covers Mary in Liturgy, the Sacraments and our daily life. There is a discussion of Apparitions and what they mean. The last three chapters are a very good explanation of how the Rosary is the Bible translated into Prayer.

This book was especially helpful to me, since I was a protestant from birth. In learning more about The Catholic Church, this book has helped me overcome the negative lies and mistruths that protestants and others have said (and still say) for years. Whether you're looking to learn more about Mary, or increase your devotion to her, this book is a must buy! It begins with a simple introduction in Chapter 1, "Why Mary?", and takes you through what The Bible has to say about her, the church's teachings on her, Mary in the Liturgy, Apparitions, Mary in Sacramentals, the Arts, and Life, an indepth study of the Rosary, and so much more.
