Barbara Pym is one of my very favorite authors, and this was the only work of hers I had not yet read. Although the spy story was a bit clunky, all the rest was a great pleasure to read, particularly when encountering characters from other stories or novels. Like Jane Austen, to whom Pym is so often compared, the only disappointment arises from the fact that there is no more to read.
