I didn't follow the timelines they give in the book for studying. I only gave myself about a week to get through it. I especially liked the practice tests on the CD. They gave me a much better feel of the actual test than the paper answer sheets you get in other books. I didn't study anything else and got a 72 so I'm now a big fan of the REA CLEP series.
Good as a Supplement

In short - great book to study with, but go through a college textbook first. I honestly can't say how good this book is by itself because I used it only after I actually read through an entire Biology textbook. My best guess would be that there is just too much information on this CLEP test (designed to cover material usually taught over TWO semesters) to be covered by such a small book like this. The practice tests, however, were great. I passed the CLEP with a 71. It was definitely the hardest of the 3 CLEP's I've done.

I studied this book until I pretty much knew everything and I passed the CLEP. It prepared me well for the test. I used nothing but this book to study for it. It's definitely worth it.
