Spooning up a warm helping of deep-dish peach pie. Breaking through the crunchy topping of a blackberry crisp or an apple cobbler, fragrant with spices. These are the pleasures of baking with fruit, when you can turn seasonal ingredients into luscious homemade desserts. With Lisa Yockelson's Cobblers, Crisps, and Deep-Dish Pies, you will master the simple, home-style art of making a perfect piecrust, a tender biscuit topping for cobblers, and delectable streusel mixtures for crisps, all designed to cover a tumble of sliced fruit or berries.
When I wish to make a fruit cobbler or crisp this is the book I go to first. Recipes are fairly simple, very flavorful, and results have been for me consistently delicious. I blame the book on that, not necessarily the technique or execution. I would recommend this book to anyone.
A good book!

I have a lot of cooking/baking books and this one gets used a lot! It also makes a great gift paired with a ceramic baking dish or pie plate!
a super classic

This little book is a super classic that I return to over and over again when i want to make a desert with fruit but don't want the time to make a pie. Her three types of crisp toppings are super and I use the oatmeal topping over and over again. any of Lisa's books are wonderful. they are easy and assessable recipies geared to the home baker regardless of skill.
