Reed's book is a bit on the pricey side, but well written. For the price you'd expect to get glossy pages, color prints, and photographs, but this book is pretty much black and blue ink only. But they did a nice job with the two colors. The text is well written and clear about the author's points. It's a bit boring, but cognitive psychology isn't exactly a glamorous field.

Reed provides organized, straightforward and objective descriptions of many major theories important to the field of cognitive psychology. He also is careful to provide examples of data that support the theories as well as any conflicting data and counter-arguments.
