I'm a female, 32. I would recommend this book to a person with an advanced beginner or intermediate level of fitness knowledge in both weight training and nutrition. It provides few basics. The most important thing you need to know about this program is that you don't have to do it exactly as it is laid out to get the results. But you do have to be committed to the routine and to pushing yourself towards the full workout as much as possible. And, of course, you have to follow the traditional fitness diet to actually *see* the results. I had a herniated disc from a martial arts injury and was unable to work out for 4 months and this book got me in excellent condition in 4 weeks flat.My recommendation to get started if you can't get to the gym twice a day (who can??) is to save your cardio for the pm after your weight training. It's tough and its far from ideal, but it's the only way I could get through it all. I also wasn't able to get through all the exercises, sets and reps recommended straight away but I did as much as I possibly could, within my own limits, and the workouts were challenging enough to transform my body. I still go back to the book and repeat the cycle every few months as part of my program to make sure I am continuously challenging myself. It's just a great handbook.
