A praiseworthy guide!

As much a quick reference as it is a planning handbook, "Fodor's Complete Guide to America's National Parks" is a treasure-trove of information on all 376 of our national park sites. The parks are grouped by states, and each listing is handsomely presented. We're given, among other things, thumbnail sketches of the sites, what to see & do, and pertinent address information (including email and Web addresses).Alas, there are only a couple of b & w photos. But the nearly two-dozen regional maps are crisp and helpful.Whether it's the pristine mountain-ringed river basins of the Noatak National Preserve (Alaska) or the historic--not to mention humid!--Fort Sumter National Monument (South Carolina), this winning guide will certainly help you to have a more informative and enjoyable trip.
