In my hunger to learn painting as thoroughly and as quickly as possible, I devoured whatever books I could find at used bookstores, at the library, and online. A lot of painting books are outdated, or you feel they cover some sections more thoroughly than others. Out of all the books I referenced, this stands out as the best for someone who is maybe starting or at an intermediate level in painting. Whereas one might need a couple of books as reference, I felt like this one book is enough and its currently the only book I have retained on painting. It has pretty much everything you need to know.
