Fourth grade teachers have to teach in the most pertinent of manners while preparing their students for statewide tests with highly published test scores. How do you do this, yet still teach in a most effective manner? Laurie Pastore can tell you and she does in this most wonderful resource. When your wife talks - you so should listen. My wife has been using this book in her work with classroom teachers and administrators in her capacity as a literacy consultant. Rarely have I heard her rave so about curriulum and how she is presenting this most relevant information to teachers. Yet this is just what she is doing. She speaks of the "user friendly format" as well as the wealth of information teachers find at their fingertips. Students are also, realistically, being prepared for the mandates of state standards. According to my wife, Janice, being a strong and dedicated teacher just became all the more feasible. Learning, too, has become more fun and relevant for children. This book is a must for any teacher as well as any administrator who wants to "lead the charge".
