Dyan Sheldon's comically melodramatic heroine casts her best friend, Ella, in a supporting role as they conspire to land a part in a real-live movie that's filming tantalizingly close to home. After enduring years of angst, Lola is graduating from high school and finally getting out of Dellwood "Deadwood," New Jersey. She can't wait to move on to bigger and better things - even if it means she'll be studying theater at Brooklyn College and not her dream school, London's prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. But destiny intervenes when Lola learns that a major Hollywood movie is being filmed right there in Dellwood that very summer! Lola wastes no time in telling everyone (including her nemesis, Carla Santini) that she, of course, is going to be in the movie. Now it's just a minor matter of convincing the director to give her a part. Is the Drama Queen ready - and wily enough - to make the leap from the stage to the silver screen?
I am very happy that Dyan Sheldon made yet, another book in the "Confessions" series and I hope she makes a fourth! This is a fun and laugh-out-loud read, Lola doing what she does best! I am not going to tell you everything in the book, for you should read it yourself because it is very good. Dyan Shelson describes each part with detail and comes up with a funny plot! For, it is a quick read (only about 200 pages) it would only take about a couple of days to read this, and you won't regret reading it! It's funny, charming, fluffy, cute, and Lola is just amazing! This is a "MUST" if you are a Huge Lola fan and you just love reading Dyan Sheldon's books. She is a talented writer and she just descibes Lola perfectly. I hope she writes a new book and makes it even more funny! This is totally worth the read Filled with drama (of course), acting, and competetion, this is an exciting and laughable read! This book is highly recommended! Lola is finally graduating from Dellwood High and she is extremley excited because she will fufill her dream of being an actress. But, even if it means she'll be studying theater at Brooklyn College and not her dream school, London's prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. It's okay for Lola though, because she heard that they are shooting a movie on Dellwood?! Telling everyone she got a part in the movie, being Lola, now she has to persuade the director to give her a part. But competition lands when Carla goes up against Lola for the part. It's Lola versue Carla in this witty and adorable third installment. Hope you enjoy! Jordan Overall grade* B+
