Corduroy is excited-he's been invited to his friend's house for a sleepover. First he packs his things into an overnight bag, then he's off. Corduroy and his pals are in for a fun night. They'll play games, build a blanket fort, and watch a movie. But when it's time for bed, one of Corduroy's friends can't quite fall asleep. After a bedtime story and song, he's off to dreamland. Children will enjoy looking at the seven lively scenes in the book, and lifting and peeking beneath forty fun flaps.
As a volunteer, I read one-on-one to preschool children at a Head Start school twice a week. The kids love lift-the-flap books such as this one, and get so excited about seeing what's behind the flaps that I've had to make a rule that no flaps get touched until I've read the text on the page! This story is about Corduroy going to a friend's house for a sleepover. Other friends are there too and they have a great time building a blanket fort, watching a movie, singing songs and playing games before they finally bed down in their sleeping bags and go to sleep. Since there is a cat behind one of the flaps on nearly every page, I made a little game with the kids that when they find the cat on each page, we go ME-OW! My only two complaints: o I wish the book was smaller, as it is a bit much for small hands to handle, especially when they are used to small board books. o I wish there was not so much repetition in what is behind the flaps. It is the same few things every page (the cat, a bone, a stuffed bear, etc.).

Kids (and adults) will be in love with this pop-up book. I love children's books and writing children's literature and this is one of my new favorites. Beautifully done!
