Covenants, Dispensations and a Goat

The Edenic Covenant is the first of the great covenants of Scripture between man and God.

A covenant is pretty much like a marriage agreement as it lays out the conditions for the relationship to flourish providing certain conditions are met. We are heading for the greatest marriage of all, that of the Bridegroom and His bride, Jesus and His Body.

God's University of the Wilderness is not for the fainthearted but the more we prepare the more enjoyable our time there will become.

The wilderness is a place where you have to search diligently for every single item that you need to sustain life. Water does not just come out of some tap next to where you pitch your tent.

If you do not have local knowledge of the wilderness then you are going to have to acquire that knowledge pretty fast from either another human if possible or from the animals. The animals will lead you to water and other food sources if there are any in the vicinity, but you still have to search.

The wilderness strips you of distractions and focuses your mindset. That is where you will learn to trust in the Lord, to hear from Him. To be like David who could sit at night and see God in the stars and moon. Hear the voice of God thundering over the hills, see His breathe light up the mountains with lightening, feel His tears falling on you in the rain from Heaven.

The wilderness does not accommodate armchair believers nor happy campers, it is a place where you are exposed to the reality of life or death. You either know your God or you fail or perish.

If ever you find you have been selected for the University of the Wilderness courses, then rejoice, do not be afraid. God will never enrol you if you were not capable of passing with flying colours. See what God sees, do not let your eyes try to constantly remind you that there is nothing, God sees it all differently, for God is in the darkness, God is in that void, the empty space. That is where His Spirit moves and brings forth Light.

To be an alumnus of the greatest school of the Spirit is the greatest honour of them all. Remember it is only a "Valley of the Shadow of Death", it is not the grave that could hold you in your sin.

Knowing our Dispensation and what Covenants are available unto us prepares us and so like Joshua, we can be brave, we can be strong, and above all we go with all that is written in the Book of the Bible to take possession of our promises.
